Emerson KJ4001X1-NB1 12P3368X012

Product Introduction Emerson KJ4001X1-NB1 12P3368X012 is DeltaV remote I/O bus repeater module. It extends the transmission distance of DeltaV I/O bus and regenerates bus signal for long-distance remote I/O cabinet connection. The module reshapes, amplifies and recovers distorted bus signal caused by long cable transmission. It isolates bus segments, limits fault influence range and provides link diagnosis for extended I/O bus network.

Description

Emerson KJ4001X1-NB1 12P3368X012

Technical Specifications

  • Bus type: DeltaV dedicated I/O bus
  • Signal regeneration: Digital signal reshaping and re-clocking
  • Isolation: Electrical isolation between two bus segments
  • Operating ambient temperature: 0℃ ~ 60℃
  • Storage temperature: -40℃ ~ 85℃
  • Relative humidity: 5% ~ 95%, non-condensing
  • Link fault diagnosis function
  • Hot-swap support

Functional Features Signal regeneration recovers attenuated and distorted bus signal after long cable transmission, extending maximum I/O bus distance. Electrical isolation separates upstream and downstream bus segments; fault on one segment will not spread to the other side. Real-time link monitoring detects cable breakage and signal loss, uploading fault alarm to DCS system. Front panel LED indicators show upstream, downstream and fault status. Hot-swap allows online replacement without shutting down entire control system.

Application Scenarios DeltaV DCS projects with long-distance distributed I/O cabinets in chemical, oil and power plants, extending communication distance between main control rack and remote I/O racks.

Performance Parameters

  • Signal re-clocking ensures stable bus communication over extended cable length
  • Electrical isolation prevents fault propagation across bus segments
  • Link fault detection responds rapidly when bus cable breaks
  • Bidirectional data transmission maintains low delay for I/O signal exchange

Material Composition Flame-retardant engineering plastic housing. Multi-layer flame-retardant glass fiber epoxy PCB with impedance-controlled traces. Bus signal recovery chips, isolation devices and LED status indicators. Gold-plated copper alloy connectors for bus wiring.

Structural Features Standard DeltaV rack plug-in card, installed in remote I/O rack designated slot. Front panel equips LED indicators for upstream bus, downstream bus and module fault. Guide rails and mechanical latches lock module in rack. Two groups of rear gold-plated connectors connect upstream bus and downstream bus separately.

Working Principle The module receives bus signal from upstream segment. The signal recovery circuit reshapes distorted signal and regenerates clock signal, then transmits regenerated signal to downstream bus segment. Electrical isolation circuit cuts off electrical path between two bus segments to prevent fault spreading. The onboard processor monitors signal quality of both sides continuously. If link loss or signal abnormality is detected, fault alarm is generated and uploaded to DCS system.

Installation Requirements Insert module into DeltaV remote I/O rack designated slot and lock mechanical latch. Use DeltaV specified shielded bus cable for long-distance connection. Cable shield single-point grounding inside control cabinet. Separate bus cable from high voltage power cables. Keep ventilation space around module.

Precautions for Use Cut off rack power before module installation or replacement. Follow the maximum bus segment length defined in system specification. Do not connect incompatible bus devices to this module. Inspect bus cable insulation and connector condition regularly. Avoid bending bus cable with small radius.
