Working Principle Field DC24 V switch signals enter each channel through FTA terminals; current-limiting resistors feed optocouplers that convert to digital logic levels. The DeltaV controller reads all 16 channel states over the bus each scan. Channel diagnostics monitor loop current to identify wire-break and short-circuit faults. LEDs indicate input state per channel. Electronic configuration sets channel filter time and fault response.
Installation Requirements
- Insert card into DeltaV I/O socket with power off
- Connect field signal wires per FTA drawing
- Use shielded twisted pair with single-point shield grounding
- Route signal wires separately from power cables
- Rack grounding
- Cabinet temperature -40 °C to +70 °C
- Configure channels in DeltaV engineering station after power-up
Precautions
- Confirm system support before online replacement
- Input signal must not exceed DC30 V
- Wear ESD wrist strap
- Verify channels from software after replacement
- Store spares in anti-static packaging
- Periodically tighten terminals
