Technical Specifications Brand: Emerson Model: SS6048R2P3 Measurement Principle: Eddy current non-contact measurement Cable Type: Integral extension cable Operating Temperature: -40°C to +177°C Mounting: Threaded probe body installation Protection Grade: IP68 for probe tip assembly
Functional Features Non-contact measurement eliminates mechanical wear between probe and rotating shaft. High temperature construction adapts to steam turbine and high-temperature compressor environment. Integrated cable assembly maintains signal integrity over long transmission distance. Insensitive to lubricating oil mist within specified working range. Real-time continuous clearance measurement for rotating shaft monitoring. Compatible with Emerson machinery protection rack signal processing modules.
Application Scenarios Steam turbine shaft vibration monitoring, centrifugal compressor thrust and radial vibration supervision, large generator shaft position measurement, high-speed rotating machinery protection system.
Performance Parameters High linearity within probe calibrated measurement range. Stable eddy current signal output under oil mist environment. Resistant to high temperature at probe installation location. Fast response to rapid shaft position variation. Consistent measurement performance for long term continuous machinery operation.
Material Composition Probe Housing: High temperature stainless steel. Probe Tip: Ceramic insulation material. Internal Coil: High temperature resistant enameled copper wire. Cable Jacket: High temperature fluoropolymer material. Connector: Stainless steel metal connector assembly.
Structural Features Threaded cylindrical probe body for screwing into machine bearing housing. Ceramic encapsulated sensing coil at probe tip. Integral high temperature cable connected directly to probe body. Metal connector at cable end for connection to signal conditioner. Hermetically sealed probe tip assembly prevents oil and moisture ingress.
Working Principle High frequency alternating current passes through probe internal coil and creates alternating magnetic field. When conductive metal shaft approaches probe tip, eddy current generates on shaft surface. The eddy current changes coil impedance. The signal conditioner detects impedance variation and converts impedance change value into voltage signal proportional to gap distance between probe tip and shaft surface.
Installation Requirements Screw probe into tapped hole on bearing housing, adjust gap distance to calibrated working range. Secure probe lock nut after gap adjustment to prevent rotation loosening. Route probe cable with proper bend radius and avoid sharp bending. Protect cable from high temperature machine surfaces and sharp edges. Connect cable end to matched signal conditioner module. Perform gap voltage calibration after installation.
Usage Notes Do not scratch or impact ceramic probe tip. Avoid excessive bending force on integral probe cable. Prevent metallic debris accumulation on probe tip surface. Check gap reading after machine overhaul and bearing maintenance. Do not use probe beyond rated temperature limit.
