Structural Characteristics Standard Ovation I/O card form factor. Rear gold plated edge connector plugs into rack backplane. Front panel has extraction handle and LED indicator window. PCB integrates analog signal conditioning circuit, high speed ADC and digital signal processing unit. Analog and digital circuits are physically separated to reduce electromagnetic crosstalk. Each channel has independent signal conditioning and probe power supply circuit.
Working Principle VS6003 supplies excitation power to eddy current probes. Rotor vibration changes probe output AC waveform. Signal conditioning circuit filters noise and conditions raw vibration signal. High speed ADC converts analog waveform to digital time series data. Onboard digital signal processor executes FFT calculation and extracts spectrum, peak amplitude and orbit information. Processed diagnostic data uploads to Ovation controller and asset management software via backplane bus. Module continuously monitors sensor health and triggers alarm when wire break, short circuit or vibration threshold violation occurs.
Installation Requirements
- Insert VS6003 into rack guide slot, push fully and lock front handle.
- Use low capacitance dedicated coaxial cable for proximity probe wiring. Keep vibration cable separated from high voltage power cable.
- Configure sensor type, cable length and alarm parameters in Ovation engineering workstation.
- Complete loop calibration and waveform verification test before commissioning.
- Ensure cabinet protective grounding is reliable, grounding resistance less than 4 ohms.
- Maintain sufficient cabinet ventilation to avoid overheating of DSP chip.
Usage Precautions
- Do not connect high voltage signal to vibration input terminals. Overvoltage damages probe power supply and analog front-end circuit.
- Strictly follow specified coaxial cable length and capacitance matching requirement.
- Hot swap must follow Ovation official maintenance procedure.
- Do not touch gold plated connector pins by hand.
- No field repairable components. Replace whole module upon failure.
- Prevent metal debris falling into rack slot during installation.
