Core components: Hilscher netX protocol controller chip, Ethernet transceiver, PROFIBUS transceiver, power management IC. Housing: Zinc coated metal compact enclosure for electromagnetic shielding. Connectors: 9 pin D-SUB metal shell connector, RJ45 plastic connector with gold plated pins. Terminal block: PA66 flame retardant plastic spring terminal for 24V DC power input.
Structural Features: Compact rectangular metal housing for DIN rail mounting. Front panel equipped with multiple LED status indicators and RJ45 Ethernet port. Side panel fitted with 9 pin D-SUB PROFIBUS connector and power spring terminal. Internal circuit separated into power supply region, netX protocol processing region, PROFIBUS and Ethernet transceiver region. Metal housing provides electromagnetic shielding for internal circuit. DIN rail clip integrated on rear side of enclosure for fast installation.
Working Principle: 24V DC power is supplied to the gateway through power terminal block. The netX protocol chip manages both PROFIBUS DP and Ethernet communication stacks. PROFIBUS DP master sends cyclic read and write telegrams to NT100-RE-DP working as DP slave. The protocol chip parses PROFIBUS data and maps data into internal memory area. Ethernet host system connects via RJ45 port and accesses mapped memory through TCP connection. The gateway converts Ethernet read/write commands into PROFIBUS DP response data and transmits back to PROFIBUS master. The module continuously monitors bus communication quality and records communication fault information. All configuration parameters are saved in non-volatile memory.
Installation Requirements: Mount NT100-RE-DP onto standard DIN rail inside control cabinet. Connect 24V DC power supply to power terminal block with correct polarity. Connect PROFIBUS shielded twisted pair cable to 9 pin D-SUB connector. Connect Ethernet cable to RJ45 port and set PROFIBUS station address and data mapping via configuration software. Install PROFIBUS termination resistor at two physical ends of PROFIBUS bus. Connect housing protective earth terminal to cabinet ground point. Separate fieldbus signal cables and high power cables in different cable ducts.
Usage Notes: Cut off 24V DC power before wiring or removing the gateway from DIN rail. Backup configuration file before modifying mapping parameters or firmware upgrade. Use PROFIBUS certified shielded twisted pair cable for PROFIBUS wiring. Check bus termination resistor setting before commissioning. Regularly inspect LED indicator status and connector tightness. Wear anti-static wristband when handling device internal circuit. Do not operate device outside rated temperature and humidity range.
