Working Principle: Two independent processors execute identical safety application programs simultaneously. Hardware comparator continuously compares calculation results from both processors. Any discrepancy triggers fault diagnosis and forces the safety system into predefined safe state. The module reads process data from I/O modules via backplane bus and executes user programmed safety logic. Communication ports transmit system status and alarm data to plant DCS. All internal hardware runs cyclic self-tests during normal operation to detect component degradation.
Installation Requirements:
- Install module in designated CPU slot of HIMA HIQuad safety rack
- Wear anti-static protection during handling and replacement
- Use shielded twisted pair cables for RS485 communication wiring
- Use shielded Ethernet cables for network connection to upper monitoring systems
- Ensure rack protective earth connection meets safety standards
- Maintain cabinet ventilation to avoid overheating
- Keep away from high power contactors and variable frequency drives
Usage Notes:
- Download verified safety application program and complete configuration before power-on
- Perform full system safety proof test after module replacement
- Backup program and configuration data after commissioning
- Do not modify safety logic without formal safety management approval
- Disconnect rack power before removing the module
- Interpret fault codes on front display for troubleshooting during faults
