Working Principle
The X-DI3201A monitors the state of connected field contacts. When a safety switch closes or opens, the module detects the change in input voltage or current. The input signal is conditioned, isolated, and evaluated by internal monitoring circuits. The module continuously checks for wiring faults, short circuits, open circuits, and internal errors. Valid input states are transmitted to the HIMA safety controller for logic evaluation and safety action.
Installation Requirements
Install only in a HIMA-approved rack or backplane
Confirm system compatibility before installation
Install by qualified safety system personnel
De-energize the rack before inserting or removing the module
Verify field wiring polarity and voltage levels
Use shielded cables for safety signal wiring
Ensure proper grounding of the control cabinet
Configure the module in the safety project before commissioning
