Functional Features Precision termination resistor network matches UCN twisted pair characteristic impedance and eliminates signal reflection. Wideband pulse transformer provides galvanic isolation between HPM logic circuit and field UCN cable. Signal buffer amplifier reshapes distorted waveform caused by long cable transmission. Carrier loss detection monitors UCN bus signal presence and reports network break fault to HPM diagnostic register. Surge protection circuit absorbs ESD and lightning transient surge from UCN field cable. Differential receiver rejects common mode ground loop noise on UCN trunk.
Application Scenarios HPM controller UCN communication intermittent failure replacement UCN backbone network signal integrity maintenance Control room TDC3000 annual overhaul spare part Redundant HPM controller communication channel upgrade
Performance Parameters

- ESD surge withstand: 2 kV contact discharge
- Fault reporting latency: Less than one UCN communication cycle
- Differential signal noise rejection ratio: 65 dB minimum
Material Composition High TG FR4 small form PCB, wideband pulse isolation transformer, precision 120 ohm metal film resistors, ferrite noise suppression beads, TVS surge diodes, gold plated board-to-board socket connector, differential signal terminal header.
Structural Features Compact rectangular daughter board with single edge gold connector for mating with HPM CPU motherboard socket. Differential pair signal header for UCN trunk cable connection. No front panel, fully installed inside HPM controller chassis. High speed differential traces are length matched to reduce skew. Silk screen orientation marking prevents reverse plugging into motherboard.
Working Principle Digital UCN communication packet from HPM CPU enters modem card and passes through differential driver circuit and isolation transformer before driving 120 ohm twisted pair trunk cable. Incoming differential signal from UCN cable flows through termination network and isolation transformer, then reshaped and sent back to HPM CPU communication logic. Loss of carrier or severe waveform distortion triggers UCN communication fault alarm to HPM event log.
Installation Requirements Power down HPM chassis completely before daughter board replacement. Align orientation mark and insert daughter board fully into motherboard socket. Verify redundant UCN network online status after power restoration. Check UCN cable shield single point grounding after card installation.
Usage Notes Improper termination resistor causes UCN packet loss and intermittent HPM offline fault. Do not bend UCN twisted pair cable sharply near terminal header. Anti-static wristband must be worn during handling to protect high speed components. Do not modify onboard termination resistor value.
