Honeywell 51403645-100 SBHM

Product Introduction The SBHM is a safety bus high speed module used in Honeywell TDC3000 and TPS safety related applications. It provides high speed communication between safety logic solvers and remote I/O subsystems in critical safety interlock loops. It supports triplex redundant data paths, executes hardware voting of safety signals and delivers deterministic low latency communication for emergency shutdown and fire and gas protection systems.

Description

Honeywell 51403645-100 SBHM

Technical Specifications Backplane 24VDC supply; high speed serial safety bus interface; triplex redundant communication channels; hardware 2oo3 voting circuit; built-in continuous CRC packet integrity check; operating temperature 0℃ to 60℃; storage temperature -40℃ to 85℃; humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing; supports SIS SIL rated architecture.

Functional Features It provides high speed deterministic data transfer between safety logic solver and remote I/O racks. It performs 2oo3 hardware voting of three redundant data streams. It detects channel mismatch and isolates faulty channels without interrupting safety function. It verifies CRC integrity on every safety packet. It supports on-line module replacement under permitted procedures. It monitors internal hardware health and uploads diagnostic alarms to SIS operator station.

Application Scenarios Emergency shutdown SIS systems in refineries; fire and gas detection safety loops in chemical plants; turbine trip protection systems in power plants; safety critical I/O communication in offshore oil platforms.

Performance Parameters Voting latency is sub-millisecond; data CRC coverage is 100% of safety packet payload; channel mismatch detection is immediate; deterministic bus cycle meets SIS response time requirements.

Material Composition Multi-layer FR4 flame retardant PCB with conformal coating; gold plated backplane connector; industrial safety grade logic and transceiver chips; aluminum heat spreader; cold rolled steel front panel.

Structural Characteristics Rack mounted vertical safety module; front panel includes power, bus activity, voting fault LEDs; elastic locking latches on both sides; fool-proof keyed slot prevents mis-insertion; passive convection cooling.

Working Principle Safety data from three redundant I/O paths arrives at the SBHM through the backplane. The module’s hardware voting circuit compares the three streams and outputs the 2oo3 consensus value. Each packet is CRC checked; corrupted packets are rejected and a diagnostic alarm is raised. The voted data is forwarded to the safety logic solver. The module continuously monitors channel consistency and isolates any deviating channel.

Installation Requirements Install in the dedicated safety bus slot of the SIS rack. Use certified safety bus cables. Maintain separation between safety and non-safety cabling. Cabinet grounding resistance ≤4Ω. Verify safety system firmware compatibility before power-on.

Usage Notes This is a safety critical component; maintenance must follow safety bypass and lockout procedures. Do not substitute non-Honeywell compatible modules. Functional loop tests must be performed after replacement. Hot swap is permitted only when system design supports it.
