Material Composition Flame retardant ABS plastic front bezel Aluminum panel mounting chassis Epoxy PCB internal circuit board Electromechanical relay output Glass LCD display window Stainless steel panel mounting clips
Structural Features Square 48 x 48 mm panel mount form factor. Front face houses LCD display and three operation pushbuttons. Rear screw terminals connect supply, sensor and output wiring. Integral mounting clips secure the unit to the control panel cutout. Bezel sealed against front panel splashes.
Working Principle The temperature sensor connects to the controller input terminal, sending a process temperature signal to the internal ADC. The microprocessor compares measured temperature to the user-set setpoint, running PID calculation to determine required output. The relay switches on or off to drive the external heater or cooling valve, closing the control loop. Auto-tuning mode applies a controlled setpoint step change, observing process response to calculate optimal P, I, D parameters. Alarm thresholds trigger the dedicated alarm relay when temperature exceeds deviation limits.
Installation Requirements Mount the unit into the 48 x 48 mm panel cutout, secure with the rear mounting clips. Connect sensor wires using compensated cable for thermocouple inputs. Connect load wiring to relay output terminals, rated load must not exceed 2 A. Power up, configure sensor type and control parameters via the front menu. Run auto-tune to optimize control loop performance.
Usage Notes Never exceed relay rated current for output loads; use external contactors for loads above 2 A. Thermocouple extension wire must match the sensor type; mismatched cable causes measurement error. Front bezel not rated for washdown environments; protect from direct water spray. Relay contacts wear out under high-frequency switching; use solid state output for cycles faster than 1 per second.
