Honeywell TC-IAH161

Product Introduction This high-precision analog input card is a standard signal acquisition component for TDC3000 systems. It collects field 4–20 mA signals, converts values with 16-bit resolution and uploads data to the controller. Each channel includes independent isolation, loop power supply and wire break diagnosis, designed for high-precision process variable measurement.

Functional Features Per-channel independent 24 V DC loop supply, no external transmitter power required. 16-bit high-precision ADC, measurement accuracy meets high-precision process control requirements. Per-channel wire break diagnosis, triggers channel fault alarm when transmitter loop opens. Digital filter smooths acquisition signals, suppresses field electromagnetic interference. On-board LEDs indicate card power, communication and fault status. All acquired data carries CRC checksum before upload. Over-range and under-range signal automatic flagging, triggers upper-limit alarms.

Application Scenarios Pressure, flow, liquid level, temperature high-precision measurement acquisition Chemical reactor process variable monitoring Spare part replacement for analog input card drift and channel faults in legacy TDC3000 systems Analog acquisition loop assembly for new TDC3000 installations

Material Composition FR4 PCB substrate 16-bit ADC chip Instrumentation operational amplifier Channel isolation optocouplers Precision metal film resistor arrays TVS surge protection diodes Gold-plated backplane edge fingers UL94 V0 flame retardant plastic front panel

Structural Features Standard Eurocard dimensions, inserts into V-series rack I/O slots. Front screw terminals silk-screened per channel, marking transmitter positive and negative polarity. Rear gold fingers mate to the backplane bus. Front panel LEDs display card run and fault status. Isolation barrier separates field signal side and backplane logic side.

Working Principle Field transmitter signals connect to input terminals, pass through RC filter and signal conditioning circuit to the 16-bit ADC. On-board logic converts analog voltage/current to digital engineering values, while detecting loop impedance to identify transmitter open circuit faults. Converted values and fault flags are packaged into communication frames, uploaded to the DCS CPU via the backplane bus. The 24 V DC regulator circuit supplies operating power for two-wire transmitters.

Installation Requirements Use shielded twisted pair for transmitter cabling, single-point shield grounding. Configure signal type and engineering range per channel in software. Route analog cables separately from power cabling trays. Calibrate zero and span per channel after power-up.

Usage Notes Transmitter loop short circuit triggers card overcurrent protection; auto-recovery occurs after fault removal. Never connect AC high voltage to input terminals, high voltage destroys the ADC and isolation circuit. Double-point shield grounding introduces common-mode interference, causing measurement drift.
