MiCOM P40 AGILE

Product Introduction: MiCOM P40 Agile is a modern intelligent electronic device developed for medium voltage power distribution feeder protection, control and monitoring. This IED integrates multi-function protection logic, circuit breaker control, power measurement, fault recording and communication function inside single unit. It samples current and voltage signals from current transformers and voltage transformers on power feeder. When power system fault occurs, it executes pre-set protection algorithm and sends trip signal to open circuit breaker to isolate fault section. It supports IEC 61850, Modbus and IEC 60870-5-104 communication protocol to upload real-time data and fault records to SCADA system. Agile series adopts high performance processor platform, with advanced cybersecurity function for modern smart substation.

Rear terminal block: PA66 flame retardant plastic screw terminal with tinned copper contacts. Housing: Metal rear chassis for electromagnetic shielding.

Structural Features: Rectangular panel flush mounting casing, front panel equipped with LCD screen, function keys and status LED indicators. Rear side arranged with screw terminals for CT, VT, auxiliary power and binary input/output wiring. Internal circuit separated into analog signal sampling area, digital processing area and communication interface area. Metal rear shell provides electromagnetic shielding for internal circuit. Internal isolation barrier between high voltage analog sampling circuit and low voltage digital circuit. Built-in mechanical fixing lugs for panel mounting.

Working Principle: Current and voltage signals from CT and VT are transmitted to analog input terminals of IED. Analog sampling circuit converts high magnitude current and voltage signal into low level signal for ADC conversion. CPU executes protection algorithm continuously. When measured electrical value exceeds protection threshold, protection logic starts timing. After preset delay expires, binary output relay contact closes and sends trip command to circuit breaker. All measured data, alarm events and fault waveform are stored into non-volatile memory. Communication module transmits real-time measurement value and fault records to SCADA system. Local HMI allows operator to view status, modify setting parameters and manually operate circuit breaker.

Installation Requirements: Cut off auxiliary power supply and secondary CT/VT circuit before wiring. Install IED into cutout of control cabinet front panel and fasten mounting lugs. Connect CT and VT secondary wiring, auxiliary power cable and binary input/output control wiring to rear terminals. Set protection curve, threshold value, auto-reclose parameter and communication address via configuration software. Complete time synchronization setup via SNTP or IRIG-B signal. Ensure cabinet protective earth ground connection is reliable. Separate CT/VT secondary wiring from high voltage primary cables. Reserve enough rear wiring space for terminal maintenance.

Usage Notes: Backup all protection setting files before parameter modification or firmware upgrade. Do not open CT secondary circuit while primary side remains energized. Check CT polarity and VT phase sequence carefully during commissioning. Regularly inspect terminal screw tightness and front panel LED status. Wear anti-static wristband when handling internal circuit board. Do not operate IED outside rated temperature and humidity range. Prevent dust and moisture accumulation inside rear terminal area.
