Working Principle Module inserts into ControlLogix rack slot and communicates with Logix controller over backplane. Onboard processor acts as PROFIBUS-DP master, scans all PROFIBUS slave devices connected on fieldbus. Input data from PROFIBUS slaves transfers to controller tags, and output data from controller tags sends to field slaves. Module monitors bus communication quality continuously, captures bus faults and sends diagnostic status information to PLC controller.
Installation Requirements Insert module into empty ControlLogix rack slot and lock latch; Use PROFIBUS shielded twisted pair cable; Install terminator resistor at bus cable ends; Configure slave list and data mapping via configuration software; Keep fieldbus cable away from high voltage power cables.
