Working Principle
The DKC01.3-040-7-FW receives three-phase AC power and rectifies it to a DC bus voltage. The digital control processor executes motion control algorithms, receiving position, speed, or torque commands from the higher-level controller via fieldbus or analog inputs. Encoder feedback from the servo motor is processed to close the position and speed control loops. The controller generates PWM signals that drive the IGBT power module, converting the DC bus voltage into a variable-frequency, variable-amplitude three-phase output to precisely control the servo motor. The integrated I/O channels handle discrete and analog signals for limit switches, enable signals, and other auxiliary functions. The firmware-based architecture allows the drive’s behavior to be configured and optimized through Rexroth’s engineering software tools. Built-in protection circuits continuously monitor current, voltage, and temperature, shutting down the drive if abnormal conditions are detected to protect both the drive and the motor.
Installation Requirements
Verify the drive is undamaged and all accessories including terminal blocks and documentation are complete before installation
Mount the drive securely on a DIN rail or panel in a control cabinet with adequate ventilation for natural convection cooling
Maintain minimum clearance distances around the drive as specified in the Rexroth installation manual to ensure proper heat dissipation
Connect the three-phase AC power supply to the designated power input terminals using appropriately sized cables
Connect the servo motor power cables to the motor output terminals, ensuring correct phase sequence
Connect the motor encoder cable to the encoder feedback connector
Connect the 24 V DC control voltage to the designated control power terminals
Connect fieldbus or communication cables if using networked control
Connect any required analog and digital I/O signals to the terminal blocks
Ensure proper grounding of the drive, motor, and control cabinet in accordance with electrical safety standards
Configure drive parameters using Rexroth’s engineering software (e.g., IndraWorks) before commissioning
Perform motor identification and auto-tuning procedures as specified in the documentation
Usage Precautions
Do not apply power to the drive until all wiring connections are verified and secure
Ensure the motor and encoder cables are properly shielded and grounded to prevent electromagnetic interference
Do not exceed the rated current and voltage specifications of the drive
Allow adequate cooling time after power-off before handling the drive, as the heatsink and internal components may remain hot
Regularly check the LED indicators for fault conditions and address any alarms promptly
Back up drive parameter settings before making changes to the configuration
Keep the drive clean and free of dust accumulation that could impair heat dissipation
Handle the drive with care during installation to avoid electrostatic discharge damage to sensitive electronic components
Refer to the official Bosch Rexroth ECODRIVE documentation for detailed parameter settings, fault codes, and troubleshooting procedures
