Description
Woodward 8530-452
Technical Specifications:
- Type: Self-contained mechanical-hydraulic droop governor.
- Max Output Angle: 40°.
- Recommended Stroke: 2/3 of full stroke.
Functional Features:
- Direct Drive: Output shaft directly connects to engine fuel racks or steam valve linkages.
- Manual/Auto Transfer: Supports bumpless transfer between manual and automatic speed control.
- Easy Maintenance: Modular design allows easy disassembly and replacement of internal components.
Application Scenarios:
Extensively used in small-to-medium diesel engines, gas engines, industrial pump sets, and steam turbines not requiring grid synchronization.
Performance Parameters:
- Steady-State Speed Droop: 3% to 5%.
Material Composition:
Precision cast iron housing. Internal moving parts are made of wear-resistant alloy steel with surface hardening treatments.
Structural Features:
Top features manual speed control handwheel and setpoint knob. Side features oil level sight glass and drain plug.
Working Principle:
Relies on the balance between centrifugal force (from engine speed) and spring force to drive the hydraulic servo piston, directly adjusting the fuel supply.
Installation Requirements:
Ensure concentricity between the drive shaft and engine camshaft. Mounting base must have sufficient rigidity.
Usage Precautions:
Never operate without oil. Replace governor oil with the specified grade regularly. Use joint bearings in linkage mechanisms to absorb installation misalignment and prevent internal limit damage.
