Working Principle PT signals measure generator and bus voltage. The unit compares voltage amplitude, frequency, and phase angle. When within synchronizing window, it outputs close pulse to generator breaker. Load sharing lines adjust governor and AVR to share kW and kVAr between units.
Installation Requirements
- Panel mount through cutout
- Connect generator and bus PT secondaries
- Connect CT secondaries
- Wire breaker close circuit
- Supply power
- Grounding
- Temperature -20 °C to +70 °C
- Set PT ratio, CT ratio, sync window after power-up
- Manual sync test before auto use
Precautions
- CT secondary must not open
- PT secondary must not short
- Verify phase sequence
- Do not bypass sync check protection
- Periodically calibrate sync window
- Store spares in dry packaging
- Check breaker close timing annually
