Description
Woodward TYPEUG-10D
Technical Specifications
- Type: Mechanical-hydraulic governor
- Control Mode: Isochronous or droop speed control
- Power Source: Mechanical flyweights with hydraulic servo amplification
Functional Features
- Isochronous Control: Maintains constant engine speed regardless of load changes.
- Hydraulic Amplification: Converts small mechanical flyweight movements into high-force hydraulic actuator movements.
- Proven Reliability: Time-tested mechanical design suitable for continuous industrial duty.
Application Scenarios
Used in diesel generator sets, mechanical drive applications, and gas engine compressors where reliable mechanical speed control is preferred.
Performance Parameters
- Speed Regulation: Precise isochronous or droop speed control.
- Response Time: Fast mechanical-hydraulic response to load changes.
Material Composition
Precision-machined cast iron and steel components, corrosion-resistant hydraulic valves, and durable elastomeric seals.
Structural Characteristics
- Compact Design: Integrates speed sensing, hydraulic amplifier, and servo piston.
- Adjustment Points: External mechanical adjustments for speed setting and droop calibration.
Working Principle
Centrifugal flyweights sense engine speed and move a pilot valve. The pilot valve directs pressurized oil to a servo piston, which adjusts the engine fuel rack to maintain the desired speed.
Installation Requirements
Mount securely to the engine with proper alignment to the fuel rack linkage. Ensure adequate clearance for maintenance and linkage travel.
Precautions for Use
Regularly check and maintain hydraulic oil level and quality. Inspect mechanical linkages for wear and ensure all pivot points are properly lubricated.
