- Security: Supports network security features to protect against unauthorized access.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics:
- Enclosure: Industrial-grade housing with EMI/RFI shielding.
- Connectors: Shielded RJ45 Ethernet connectors with LED status indicators.
- PCB: Multi-layer board with high-speed signal routing and impedance control.
- Status Indicators: Front-panel LEDs for link status, activity, and fault indication.
Working Principle:
The module connects to the internal backplane of the PCU2000 controller, reading and writing process data. It packages this data into Ethernet frames and transmits them over the plant network. Conversely, it receives commands and configuration data from the network, validates them, and routes them to the appropriate internal PCU modules. The dual-port architecture provides automatic failover in case of network issues.
Installation Requirements:
- Network Cabling: Use shielded Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cables with proper grounding.
- IP Configuration: Configure the module’s IP address, subnet mask, and gateway according to network standards.
- Redundancy Setup: If using dual ports, configure the network redundancy protocol as specified in the manual.
- Slot Assignment: Install the module in the designated communication slot within the PCU rack.
Usage Precautions:
- Network Isolation: Ensure the control network is properly isolated from the corporate IT network to prevent security breaches and network storms.
- Cable Management: Route Ethernet cables away from high-voltage power cables and sources of electromagnetic interference.
- Firmware Updates: Keep the module firmware updated to the latest approved version for security and performance improvements.
- Configuration Backup: Always backup the module configuration before making changes or performing firmware updates.
