Description
ABB CI820V1
Technical Specifications:
- System: ABB S800 I/O and AC 800M Controller.
- Bus Interface: S800 I/O Bus and TP800/TP820 communication links.
- Redundancy: Supports redundant communication links for high availability.
Functional Features:
- I/O Bus Management: Scans and manages all attached S800 I/O modules.
- Controller Link: Provides the physical and protocol interface to the AC 800M CPU.
- Diagnostic Capabilities: Comprehensive status reporting for I/O bus health and link integrity.
Application Scenarios:
- Distributed I/O stations in process automation.
- Remote monitoring and control panels.
- Redundant control system architectures.
Performance Parameters:
- High-Speed Scanning: Fast I/O update rates for real-time control.
- Redundant Switchover: Seamless failover in redundant configurations.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics:
- Enclosure: Standard S800 I/O module housing.
- Connectors: TP800/TP820 link connectors and S800 bus connectors.
Working Principle:
The CI820V1 acts as the local master for the S800 I/O bus, cyclically reading inputs and writing outputs to attached modules. It buffers this data and exchanges it with the AC 800M controller over the redundant TP800/TP820 links, ensuring continuous data flow even if one link fails.
Installation Requirements:
- Link Configuration: Connect the TP800/TP820 communication links to the AC 800M controller.
- Bus Termination: Ensure proper termination of the I/O bus.
- Software Setup: Configure the I/O bus parameters in Control Builder.
Usage Precautions:
- Link Integrity: Monitor link status LEDs to ensure redundant paths are active.
- Module Compatibility: Verify that all attached I/O modules are compatible with the CI820V1 firmware.
