- Fast Switching: Optimized gate drive for rapid turn-on and turn-off, reducing harmonic distortion.
- Robust Construction: Press-pack or isolated baseplate design for excellent thermal conductivity.
Application Scenarios:
- High-performance AC and DC drives in heavy industry.
- Active Front End (AFE) converters for regenerative braking and power factor correction.
- Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and renewable energy inverters.
Performance Parameters:
- Thermal Resistance: Low junction-to-case thermal resistance for effective heat dissipation.
- Safe Operating Area (SOA): Wide SOA for handling high surge currents during motor starting.
Material Composition & Structural Features:
- Semiconductor: Advanced trench IGBT technology with fast-recovery anti-parallel diodes.
- Encapsulation: Robust epoxy or silicone gel encapsulation for moisture and vibration resistance.
- Terminals: High-current copper busbars with low-inductance design.
Working Principle:
The AGDR-72 gate drive receives PWM signals from the drive controller and amplifies them to safely switch the IGBT at high voltages and currents. It continuously monitors the IGBT’s health and rapidly shuts it down if a fault is detected.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount securely to a heatsink using the specified thermal interface material and torque sequence.
- Connect gate drive cables using shielded wiring to prevent noise-induced false triggering.
Usage Precautions:
- Never exceed the maximum Vces or Ic ratings.
- Ensure the heatsink cooling system is operational before applying power to the module.
- Handle with strict ESD precautions to prevent gate oxide damage.
