      • Legacy serial printers / logger (Port B)
    • In Advant Eng Tool: add “NPBA-12” station → set port A = Modbus Slave (Node addr, baud, parity), Port B = SattBus (drive node addrs) → define I/O mapping (Modbus registers ↔ controller variables)
    • Precaution:​ RS-485 A/B polarity critical — reversed → no comm; terminate bus ends with 120 Ω if >50 m or per Modbus spec. For SattBus to drives: max total cable length & node count per SattBus spec (typically ≤500 m, ≤31 nodes). Keep NPBA firmware version compatible with controller CPU firmware — check ABB compatibility matrix before upgrade.
