Description
ABB P3LB HENF209568R0001
- Technical Specifications (typical gate-driver interface):
- Input: Fiber optic receive (820 nm or 1300 nm) — firing command from control
- Output: Gate trigger pulse (typical +15 V / –15 V wrt cathode; peak Ig ≥100 A for <10 µs turn-on; steady gate current few A)
- Feedback: Desaturation detection (Vce monitor), gate-fault flag → transmitted back via fiber or status contact
- Supply: Isolated auxiliary power (typically ±15 V DC derived from DC link via dedicated isolating converter on driver)
- Protection: Under-voltage lockout on driver supply; over-current / desat shutdown → immediate inhibit + fault report
- Indicators: Power OK LED, Firing Active LED, Fault LED (visible on valve deck during commissioning)
- Mounting: Bolted to IGCT heat-sink / press-pack assembly or to valve-deck DIN rail in screened compartment
- Operating Temp.: –10 °C to +50 °C (valve hall — actively cooled / ventilated)
- Functional Features:
- Direct fiber link to control — immune to EMI from high di/dt switchings in valve
- Redundant gate-driver design in ACS6000 — each IGCT has primary + monitor driver
- Integrates with drive’s self-test — at power-up drive checks gate-driver presence & health before enabling PWM
- Application Scenarios:
- ACS6000 / ACS5000 MV drive — IGCT gate driver for 3-level NPC or Cascaded H-Bridge topology
- Spare part for scheduled maintenance / replacement after IGCT failure (gate driver often replaced together with IGCT if fault suspected)
- Used in high-power (>5 MVA) cement mill, mining conveyor, marine propulsion drives
- Material & Structure / Working Principle / Installation / Precautions:
- Install per drive service manual — P3LB boards are electrostatically and high-voltage sensitive; only trained MV drive service personnel may handle
- Verify fiber routing — minimum bend radius; clean end-face before mating
- After installation: perform gate-driver selftest from drive HMI — confirms firing pulse integrity and feedback
- Precaution: IGCT valve deck contains lethal DC link voltage (several kV) and stored energy — never access with cover open unless DC link discharged and locked out. Gate-driver board may have small isolated potentials — still treat as part of HV equipment. Mismatched P3LB revision may cause gate-driver incompatibility — use exact spare as specified by drive type / serial number.
