      • Comparative check (if deviation >x % → sensor/fit fault alarm)

        PFRA101 is electronically similar to PFEA113 but often lacks full setpoint programming (some versions are read-only copy of PFEA scaling) — or may be a full PFEA113 programmed as “Monitor Only”. In some ABB flatness roll systems PFRA101 is the roll electronics interface​ that digitizes signals from built-in sensors in a Pressductor Shape Roll & sends to shape computer.

  • Tech / Install / Precautions:​ Same as PFEA113 — wire Excite/Sig from same PillowBlocks (parallel excite OK if PFEA & PFRA share excite source — check PFEA spec: can drive two amps; typically PFEA excites, PFRA reads sig only — NOT exciting from both). Set FS same as PFEA. Verify both channels read within tolerance (e.g., <0.5 % diff at steady state). If PFRA101 is shape-roll interface → consult ABB flatness system manual (different I/O — often fiber/serial to Shape Computer, not 4–20 mA).
