Description
ABB TK850
- Technical Specifications (typical DDCS fiber patch — TK850 family):
- Fiber Type: Multimode 62.5/125 µm (OM1) or 50/125 µm (OM2) — per ABB DDCS spec = 62.5/125 µm typical
- Wavelength: 820 nm (DDCS) or 1300 nm (HN800/newer) — verify per application
- Connectors: ST (bayonet twist) both ends — DDCS uses simplex ST; some HN800 use duplex LC or ST — TK850 usually ST-ST simplex for DDCS
- Length: 1 m / 3 m / 5 m / 10 m (common; max per DDCS node ≤50 m; HN800 ≤2 km multimode)
- Jacket: Orange (820 nm) or Aqua (1300 nm) PVC/LSZH
- Attenuation: ≤3 dB/km @ 820 nm; ≤1 dB/km @1300 nm
- Operating Temp.: –20 °C to +70 °C (cable); –40 °C to +85 °C (connector boot)
- Functional Features / Application / Material / Structure / Working Principle / Installation / Precautions:
- Used to link RDCU/NAMC DDCS TX → NDBU-95 IN; NDBU-95 OUT → next NDBU-95 or slave drive DDCS RX
- For INFI 92 fiber C.W.: INNIS21 Port A/B → next node’s IN port — must form ring (A-ring & B-ring) — both rings terminated at ends with NTR001 terminator plug (NOT fiber loopback)
- Installation:
- Clean fiber end-faces with lint-free wipe + isopropyl alcohol before mating
- Insert into ST port — twist lock; ensure clicked
- Verify Link LED illuminates on NDBU-95 / INNIS21 / drive DDCS RX
- Precautions:
- Do NOT look into live fiber — although low power (≤1 mW typical) IR invisible — good practice to avoid direct viewing
- Minimum bend radius ≥30 mm (≈1″) — kinking raises attenuation / breaks fiber
- For DDCS: total fiber length per segment ≤50 m (check DDCS spec — some versions allow 300 m with 1300 nm); exceeding causes link loss
- For C.W. ring: ensure both A-ring & B-ring have terminators at their respective ends — missing terminator = CRC errors / intermittent node drop
- Store spares with dust caps on both ends; reclean before use
