Material Composition
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip, stainless steel probe body, FEP insulated cable, shielded copper braid, and gold-plated ClickLoc connector.

Structural Characteristics
The probe features a precision-machined stainless steel body with a PPS molded tip containing the sensing coil. The integrated cable terminates with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector for connection to the extension cable.

Working Principle
The probe contains a precision coil that generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field. When a conductive target enters this field, eddy currents are induced in the target surface, which alter the impedance of the probe coil. This impedance change is proportional to the gap distance and is transmitted via the cable to the Proximitor for signal conditioning.

Installation Requirements
Mount the probe in a threaded hole perpendicular to the target surface. Ensure the target material is AISI 4140 steel or equivalent conductive material. Connect the probe cable to the extension cable using the ClickLoc connector. The total system electrical length (probe cable plus extension cable) must match the Proximitor rating.

Usage Notes
Ensure the target surface is clean and free of debris. Verify the probe is properly aligned perpendicular to the target surface. Avoid exposing the probe to temperatures exceeding the rated operating range. Handle the probe carefully to avoid damage to the tip.
