Description
Bently 3500 62
Technical Specifications
- Model: 3500/62
- Channels: 6 independent monitoring channels
- Input Signals: +4 to +20 mA current or -10 to +10 Vdc proportional voltage
- System Compatibility: 3500 Series Machinery Protection System
Functional Features
- Continuous Parameter Monitoring: Continuously compares monitored parameters against user-programmable alarm setpoints to drive machinery protection alarms.
- Versatile Input Options: Accepts standard current and voltage signals, accommodating various industrial transmitters.
- TMR Configuration Support: When used in a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) configuration, three monitors must be installed adjacently to employ voting logic, preventing loss of protection due to single-point failures.
Application Scenarios
Extensively deployed in oil and gas, power generation, chemical processing, and manufacturing industries to monitor process variables critical to the safe and efficient operation of rotating and stationary equipment.
Performance Parameters
- Measurement Accuracy: High precision with advanced diagnostic capabilities
- Operating Temperature: Standard industrial operating range for 3500 series modules
Material Composition
Constructed with high-strength, flame-retardant industrial plastics. Internal circuit boards are treated with conformal coating to protect against moisture, dust, and corrosive gases.
Structural Characteristics
Standard 3500 half-height module form factor. Features front-panel LEDs for OK, TX/RX, and Bypass status indication, with a precision backplane connector for seamless rack integration.
Working Principle
Receives analog current or voltage signals from field transmitters, conditions the signals, and digitizes them. The internal microprocessor continuously compares the processed values against configured alarm thresholds and triggers relay outputs or communication alarms when limits are exceeded.
Installation Requirements
Must be inserted into an available slot in the 3500/05 Rack Assembly. For TMR applications, modules must be installed in groups of three in adjacent slots. Proper grounding of the rack is mandatory.
Precautions for Use
Use the 3500 Rack Configuration Software to accurately program measurement types (current vs. voltage) and alarm setpoints. If utilizing the Internal Barrier I/O option, ensure external intrinsically safe power is correctly wired to the designated terminals.
