Structural Characteristics
- 8.1 inch stainless steel sleeve
- 1.5 inch standoff adapter
- 1.0 meter integral cable
- Standard dome cover with threaded retention
- 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread
Working Principle The 1.5 inch standoff adapter positions the aluminum housing away from the machine surface, while the 8.1 inch sleeve extends through the casing to place the probe tip at the correct distance from the shaft. The reverse mount probe faces the shaft from inside the housing, with its cable routed back through the sleeve and out via the conduit port. The eddy-current field generated at the probe tip interacts with the shaft surface to produce the gap-dependent voltage signal.
Installation Requirements
- Mount standoff to machine surface
- Thread housing into standoff with 3/4-14 NPT
- Verify 8.1 inches internal clearance
- Route 1.0 meter cable through conduit
- Adjust probe gap to -10 Vdc
Usage Precautions
- Sleeve length under 12 inches does not require additional support
- Verify standoff adapter seal integrity
- Ensure adequate clearance for dome cover removal
- Inspect sleeve for straightness before installation
