Working Principle:
Identical eddy current principle as the 8mm system — the Proximitor drives high-frequency current through the 11mm probe coil, generating an electromagnetic field. The larger probe tip diameter creates a wider measurement field, resulting in a 4mm linear range. Eddy currents induced in the conductive target modify the coil impedance proportionally to gap distance, and the Proximitor converts this to a linear voltage output.
Installation Requirements:
- When upgrading from 7200-series system, all components must be replaced with 3300 XL 11mm components
- Monitoring system software must be updated to recognize 3300 XL 11mm transducer
- Set initial gap at midpoint of 4mm linear range
- Verify Proximitor output at calibrated gap position
- Use extension cable length matching Proximitor system designation
- Apply connector protectors in humid environments
