Working Principle: Based on the eddy current effect, the probe coil generates a high-frequency alternating magnetic field. When a conductive target surface enters the magnetic field range, eddy currents are induced. The reverse magnetic field from these eddy currents alters the coil impedance, and the proximitor converts this impedance change into a voltage signal proportional to the gap distance.
Installation Requirements:
- The total system length (probe cable + extension cable) must match the proximitor’s nominal length
- Mount on a rigid bracket ensuring the probe axis is perpendicular to the target surface
- Set gap voltage to -10.0 VDC ± 0.2V
- Target surface roughness must be better than 1.6μm
Usage Precautions:
- Confirm probe system length matches the proximitor
- Gently rotate the connector by hand until 3 to 4 clicks are heard; do not overtighten
- Cable bending radius must meet minimum requirements; right-angle bends are prohibited
- Shield must be grounded at a single point only
