- Regional Variant: “-00” suffix indicates standard configuration (a “-CN” suffix variant also exists for regional documentation/marking)
Functional Features:
- 8.0-meter factory-terminated cable sized for common 3300 XL system length combinations without field splicing
- Maintains the nominal 200 mV/mil (approximately 7.87 mV/μm) scale factor when used with matched probes and Proximitor sensors
- ClickLoc locking connectors resist loosening under vibration
- Low-noise coax construction shields low-level eddy current signals from electrical interference
- Broad probe compatibility with standard 3300 XL probe families when total system length is matched
Application Scenarios:
- Gas and steam turbines for radial vibration and thrust position measurements
- Centrifugal and reciprocating compressors for bearing vibration and rod drop monitoring
- Large pumps, fans, and blowers for API 670-style protection channels
- Motors, generators, and gearboxes for shaft vibration and position monitoring
- TSI (Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation) systems in power generation
Performance Parameters:
- System sensitivity (when paired with matched probe and Proximitor): 7.87 mV/μm (200 mV/mil) ± 6.5%
- Linear range: 2 mm (80 mils) for 8 mm probe systems
- Frequency response: 0 to 10 kHz
- Signal attenuation at 1 kHz: less than 1%
- Signal attenuation at 10 kHz: less than 5%
Material Composition:
- Low-noise coaxial cable with shielded construction
- ClickLoc miniature coaxial connectors with gold-plated contacts
- Industrial-grade polymer cable jacket
Structural Features:
- Non-armored (standard jacket) design for routing through conduit or cable tray
- Factory-terminated connectors on both ends for plug-and-play installation
- Compact diameter suitable for routing through tight machinery clearances
Working Principle:
The extension cable carries the high-frequency eddy current excitation signal from the Proximitor to the proximity probe and returns the modulated signal that varies proportionally with the gap between the probe tip and the target surface. The cable’s precisely controlled impedance and capacitance ensure that the signal integrity is maintained across the full 8.0-meter length.
Installation Requirements:
- Route cable through conduit or cable tray for the full length
- Maintain minimum bending radius of 45 mm (approximately 50 mm per Bently installation guidelines)
- Keep cable separated from power lines by at least 200 mm
- Secure cable at regular intervals to prevent sagging or movement
- Total system length (probe integral cable + extension cable) must match the Proximitor configuration
- Do not splice or modify the cable
Usage Notes:
- The 8.0-meter length is commonly used in 10-meter total system configurations when combined with a probe having a 2.0-meter integral cable
- Verify the total system length matches the Proximitor model before installation
- Correct cable length maintains system scale factor and linear range, reducing nuisance alarms
- This is one of the most widely stocked 3300 XL extension cable variants in the aftermarket
