Functional Features The probe features complete interchangeability within the 3300 XL 8 mm system. The extended 4.40 meter cable length provides flexibility in positioning the Proximitor Sensor away from the probe location. The gold-plated connector ensures reliable electrical contact. The probe comes standard with a locknut featuring pre-drilled safety wire holes.
Application Scenarios Large industrial pump monitoring, compressor vibration measurement in confined spaces, generator shaft position monitoring with remote electronics, turbine supervisory instrumentation with distributed sensor electronics, axial position measurement in extended reach applications.
Performance Parameters The probe delivers 7.87 V/mm sensitivity with linearity within ±0.025 mm over the 2.0 mm standard range. The extended cable length maintains signal integrity through the triaxial shielded construction. The DC resistance increases proportionally with cable length while remaining within system specifications.
Material Composition Probe tip is polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). Probe case is AISI 304 stainless steel. Cable is 75 Ω triaxial with FEP insulation. Connector material is gold-plated brass.
Structural Characteristics The probe features 3/8-24 UNF-2A threads with standard forward mount configuration. The 2.8 inch unthreaded length positions the sensing element correctly. The 4.40 meter cable is protected by FEP insulation and rated for harsh industrial environments. The probe is supplied with a 9/16 inch lock nut and 5/16 inch wrench flats.
Working Principle The probe generates an eddy current field at the tip that interacts with a conductive target surface. The Proximitor Sensor measures the energy loss from the induced eddy currents and outputs a DC voltage proportional to the physical gap. The 4.40 meter cable transmits the RF signal between the probe tip and the Proximitor Sensor with minimal signal degradation.
