Functional Features The probe is designed for maximum survivability in the harshest steam turbine differential expansion environments. It continually operates and maintains accuracy at high temperatures up to 200°C. The probe has both front and rear seals which, combined with the standard FluidLoc cable, prevent moisture from entering the probe tip. Special high-temperature ClickLoc connectors are standard. The probe is a direct replacement for legacy 7200 series 25 mm and 35 mm probes.

Application Scenarios Differential expansion measurement on steam turbine generators, large turbomachinery shaft vibration monitoring, gas turbine axial position measurement, heavy industrial compressor monitoring, power plant rotating equipment condition monitoring, petrochemical processing equipment.

Performance Parameters The 0.787 V/mm output gives the system a linear range of 12.7 mm. The probe maintains accuracy within specifications across the full -35°C to +200°C temperature range. The probe DC resistance is 6.2 ± 0.5 Ω for the 1.0 meter length, scaling proportionally for longer cables. The system is fully API 670 compliant.

Material Composition Probe tip is polyetheretherketone (PEEK). Probe case is AISI 304 stainless steel. Cable is 75 Ω triaxial with perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) insulated FluidLoc construction. Armor is flexible stainless steel with protective outer jacket. Connector material is gold-plated brass.

Structural Characteristics The probe features M30 x 2 metric thread with a locknut containing pre-drilled safety wire holes. The 60 mm case length provides substantial mounting depth. The armored cable has increased outside diameter for mechanical protection. The probe features a removable collar on the ClickLoc connector to facilitate routing through tight clearances.

Working Principle The probe operates using eddy current proximity sensing. An RF signal from the Proximitor Sensor creates an electromagnetic field at the 25 mm probe tip. Eddy currents induced in the conductive target surface cause a measurable impedance change. The Proximitor Sensor converts this into a DC voltage directly proportional to the gap distance. The large 25 mm tip diameter creates a broader electromagnetic field suitable for large target surfaces.
