Working Principle The probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field through its internal coil. Eddy currents induced in the conductive target surface modify the coil impedance in proportion to gap distance. The Proximitor sensor converts this impedance change into a linear voltage output providing both DC position and AC vibration data.
Installation Requirements
- Install in 1/4-28 UNF threaded hole with adequate depth
- Ensure perpendicular alignment to target
- Set gap to 1.0 mm
- Verify -10 Vdc gap voltage
- Maintain minimum cable bend radius
- Use compatible NSv extension cables if needed
Usage Precautions
- Verify mounting hole depth accommodates 4.0 inch case
- Do not overtighten during installation
- Inspect probe tip for damage
- Ensure connector is fully locked
- Short cable requires nearby Proximitor mounting
- Handle extended case carefully to prevent bending
