Structural Characteristics The probe features M8 x 1 metric thread with a compact 1.9 inch case length. The 0.3 inch unthreaded length positions the thread appropriately for the mounting surface. The non-armored cable has a 3.68 mm maximum outside diameter. The probe comes with a locknut containing pre-drilled safety wire holes.
Working Principle The probe generates a high-frequency electromagnetic field at the 5 mm probe tip. Eddy currents induced in the conductive target surface modify the RF field characteristics. The Proximitor Sensor measures these modifications and outputs a DC voltage proportional to the gap distance.
