Structural Characteristics:
- Full-height module design occupying one front slot
- Front panel LEDs for status indication
- Terminal blocks arranged for organized field wiring
- Backplane connection to 3500 rack communication bus
Working Principle: The module continuously monitors alarm status from all monitoring modules in the rack through the backplane communication bus. Internal logic circuits evaluate the programmed AND/OR conditions for each of the 16 relay channels. When the programmed alarm conditions are satisfied, the corresponding relay is energized, providing discrete output contacts for external alarm and control circuits.
Installation Requirements:
- Install in any full-height slot to the right of the TDI module
- Multiple 16-channel relay modules can be installed as required
- Field wiring must observe relay contact current and voltage ratings
- Use appropriate wire gauge for connected loads
- Ensure proper rack grounding
Use Precautions:
- Requires 3500 Rack Configuration Software for programming
- Each relay must be individually programmed for desired alarm logic
- Verify total power consumption when installing multiple relay modules
- Relay contact ratings must be observed for all connected loads
- Consider using arc suppression for inductive loads
- Regular inspection of relay operation recommended for critical applications
