Bently Nevada 3500/42-01-01

Product Overview: The 3500/42-01-01 is a configurable 4-channel monitor module within the Bently Nevada 3500 Machinery Protection System. It accepts input signals from eddy current proximity probes, velocity sensors, and accelerometers, processes these signals to perform various vibration and position measurements, and compares the results with user-programmable alarm setpoints. The part number decoding is: “01” = I/O module with internal terminals; “01” = CSA/NRTL/C agency approval. The module PWA is 176449-02 paired with I/O module 128229-01.

  • Plug-in design compatible with any accessible rack slot

Working Principle:
The 3500/42M receives analog signals from proximity probes, velocity sensors, or accelerometers via the I/O module. It conditions the input signals (filtering, integration, differentiation as configured), performs the programmed measurement function, compares the measured values against user-programmable alarm setpoints (Alert and Danger), and drives alarm outputs when setpoints are exceeded. The module also returns 4–20 mA analog outputs proportional to the measured values.

Installation Requirements:

  • Install the main module (176449-02) in any accessible full-height rack slot
  • Install the corresponding I/O module (128229-01) in the rear slot
  • Configure channel types, measurement functions, alarm setpoints, and filter parameters via 3500 Rack Configuration Software
  • Connect sensor cables to the I/O module internal terminals

Usage Notes:

  • Channels are programmed in pairs; Channels 1&2 and Channels 3&4 can each perform a different measurement function
  • The module ships unconfigured from the factory — configuration is performed after installation
  • For TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) applications, the TMR I/O variant (3500/42-03-XX) is required
  • Compatible with Bently Nevada 3300 XL, 3300, and 7200 series sensors
