Working Principle When DC servo drive supplies regulated DC voltage to motor stator winding, magnetic field interaction between stator winding and rotor permanent magnet generates torque to drive rotor and output shaft rotation. The rear mounted optical encoder converts shaft rotation angle and speed into digital pulse signals and sends feedback signal to servo drive. Servo drive compares setpoint position and actual feedback position, adjusts output voltage to control motor speed and torque to achieve closed loop position control.
Installation Requirements
- Mount motor on machine base via standard flange mounting holes.
- Align motor shaft and mechanical load coupling to reduce misalignment stress.
- Use flexible coupling for connection between motor shaft and load.
- Route power cable and encoder feedback cable separately.
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for encoder signal wiring.
- Complete protective earth connection of motor housing.
- Perform motor parameter setup and auto tuning in servo drive after installation.
Usage Notes
- Do not exceed rated continuous torque and maximum speed specification.
- Avoid shaft radial and axial overload beyond bearing rating.
- Keep motor surface clean and free of oil mist and metal dust accumulation.
- Check bearing noise and temperature during long term continuous operation.
- Disconnect power before removing encoder cover or disassembling motor.
- Protect encoder connector from mechanical impact and vibration damage.
- Replace bearing assembly when abnormal noise or temperature rise occurs.
