Structural Features:
- DIN-rail or panel mount base assembly
- Multiple standardized module slots with keyed guides
- Backplane bus connectors for electronics and personality modules
- Fiber optic communication port
- Power input terminals
Working Principle:
The base assembly receives power from the power distribution module and distributes it to all installed modules through the backplane. Field wiring connects to the personality module terminals mounted on the base. The personality module conditions and adapts the field signals, passing them through the backplane to the electronics module. The electronics module digitizes the signals and communicates with the local node controller via the RS-485/fiber optic link. The local node controller aggregates data from all remote nodes and forwards it to the main Ovation controller.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount in a clean, ventilated remote field cabinet
- Connect fiber optic cables to the local node
- Connect power supply cables from the power distribution module
- Install personality modules first, then electronics modules, following the Ovation installation sequence
- Ensure proper grounding of the cabinet and base assembly
Usage Precautions:
- Follow the prescribed installation sequence: personality module first, then electronics module
- Align module guide pins with base slots carefully to prevent connector damage
- Do not force modules into slots; standardized design ensures smooth insertion without excessive force
- Verify fiber optic cable integrity before commissioning
- Perform loop checks on all channels after installation
