Functional Features High-precision digital-to-analog conversion circuit converts digital control instructions into stable 4-20mA analog output. Optical isolation components separate field instrument wiring and internal DCS circuit to block surge voltage and common-mode electromagnetic interference. Continuous diagnostic circuit detects open circuit, short circuit and overload of field output loops. LED indicators on the front panel display real-time running state of each channel and module fault status. Standard rack plug-in mechanical design supports hot swap under non-critical process operating conditions.
Application Scenarios Ovation DCS control cabinets deployed in thermal power plants, chemical processing plants, pulp and paper mills, metallurgical factories and water treatment facilities. It sends control signals to regulating valves, variable-speed actuators and proportional regulating instruments in process control loops.
Performance Parameters Digital-to-analog conversion maintains high signal output accuracy within the full working temperature range. Optical isolation withstands high common-mode voltage generated by long-distance field signal cables. Fault detection circuit captures output loop abnormality rapidly and triggers alarm immediately. Backplane bus communication ensures stable transmission of control commands and diagnostic information.
Material Composition Flame-retardant engineering plastic front housing. Multi-layer flame-retardant glass fiber epoxy printed circuit board. High-precision digital-to-analog conversion chips, optical isolation devices, main microprocessor and LED status indicators. Gold-plated copper alloy backplane connector. Supporting terminal base adopts flame-retardant PA plastic and nickel-plated copper screw terminals.
Structural Features Standard plug-in card for Ovation DCS rack slots. Front panel integrates module fault indicator and independent LED indicators for each output channel. Built-in guide rails and mechanical latch lock the module firmly inside the equipment rack. Gold-plated connector on the rear side mates precisely with Ovation rack backplane bus. Matched terminal base provides wiring terminals for field actuator signal cables.
Working Principle Ovation main controller transmits digital control commands to the module through rack backplane bus. The on-board microprocessor receives and parses digital data and sends data to digital-to-analog conversion circuit. Digital-to-analog conversion circuit converts digital value into corresponding 4-20mA analog current signal. Analog current signal passes through optical isolation circuit and transmits to field actuators via terminal base and signal cables. Real-time sampling circuit continuously monitors output current and loop load state. When wire break, short circuit or overload is detected, the module generates fault signal and uploads alarm to DCS system.
Installation Requirements Insert the module along rack guide rail into designated Ovation rack slot and fasten mechanical latch. Use shielded twisted-pair cables for field actuator wiring. Implement single-point grounding for cable shield inside control cabinet. Separate analog signal cables from high-voltage power cables to avoid electromagnetic interference. Reserve enough air circulation space around the module for heat dissipation.
Precautions for Use Cut off power supply of field actuators before wiring operation. Calibrate output channel value after module replacement. Inspect cable insulation performance and terminal screw tightness regularly. Do not apply external voltage exceeding rated range to output terminals. Do not disassemble the outer housing of the module.
