Working Principle:
The terminal block serves as a passive mechanical interface between field wiring and the I/O module. Field cables are terminated on the RTB using screw clamps. When the RTB is latched onto the I/O carrier, spring-loaded contacts establish electrical connections between the field wires and the I/O module circuitry. Removing the I/O module leaves the field wiring intact on the RTB.
