Working Principle The module connects to DeltaV safety controller and safety I/O modules through safety rack backplane. It receives safety interlock control instructions from safety controller and forwards instructions to corresponding safety I/O modules. It collects safety field data and diagnostic information uploaded by safety I/O modules and transmits data back to safety controller. On-board monitoring circuit checks bus signal quality and module online status continuously and verifies every safety data packet. When communication failure or module offline occurs, module generates safety fault alarm and sends alarm message to DeltaV safety operator station.
Installation Requirements Insert module along rack guide rail into designated DeltaV safety rack slot and lock mechanical latch. Confirm backplane connector fully engages with safety rack backplane. Reserve air circulation space around module for heat dissipation. Complete safety bus communication parameter configuration in DeltaV safety engineering workstation after hardware installation.
Precautions for Use Take anti-static protective measures during module handling. Do not touch gold-plated connector pins directly by bare hands. Inspect connector contact condition and safety rack backplane regularly. Do not apply overvoltage to communication terminals. Do not disassemble module housing.
