Working Principle:
The VE4003S2 receives 4–20mA current loop signals from field transmitters. The input conditioning circuitry converts each current signal to a proportional voltage, which is then digitized by the onboard A/D converter. The digitized values are communicated to the DeltaV controller via the system backplane. HART digital communication is demodulated from the 4–20mA loop, enabling bidirectional communication with smart field devices for remote configuration and diagnostics.
Installation Requirements:
- Mount in a compatible DeltaV I/O carrier with secure backplane connection
- Wire field transmitters according to 2-wire or 4-wire configuration
- Use shielded twisted-pair cables for all analog signal connections
- Ground shields at one end only
- Maintain operating temperature within -40°C to +70°C
Usage Precautions:
- Verify transmitter signal type and range before commissioning
- Do not exceed the maximum loop resistance specification
- Perform annual calibration to maintain measurement accuracy
- Monitor wire break and diagnostic alarms through the DeltaV workstation
- The module contains no user-serviceable parts and shall not be disassembled
