Performance Parameters: Non-blocking full duplex switching architecture. Maximum VLAN quantity 1000. Support up to 20480 ARP entries. MAC address table capacity 32000 entries. Low latency forwarding for real-time industrial communication traffic.
Material Composition: Metal 1U rack mount chassis with black coating. FR4 high-speed industrial printed circuit board. SFP and SFP+ optical transceiver sockets. Switching ASIC chip, memory and flash storage chips. Cooling fans and metal heat sink components. Metal mounting brackets for 19-inch rack installation.
Structural Features: 1U height metal rack mount chassis. Front panel holds SFP ports, status LEDs and USB port. Rear panel accommodates power supply module, management port and stacking connectors. Built-in cooling fan module for forced air heat dissipation. LED indicators for port link status, speed, power and fault alarm. Modular power supply slot for redundant power upgrade.
Working Principle: Power supply energizes switching ASIC, memory and system flash storage. ExtremeXOS operating system initializes port configuration, VLAN table and routing table. Incoming data frames from SFP fiber ports enter switching chip. The ASIC performs MAC address lookup and forwards data frames to target ports according to Layer 2 or Layer 3 routing rules. Stacking ports connect multiple switches to synchronize configuration and forwarding table. Management port and console port provide access for network configuration, status monitoring and fault diagnosis. Fans maintain stable internal temperature during continuous operation.
Installation Requirements: Install into standard 19-inch equipment rack. Reserve front and rear air circulation space for ventilation. Install optical transceivers matching SFP / SFP+ port specification. Ground the chassis reliably to protective earth. Route fiber cables separately from high voltage power cables. Verify stacking cable connection when multiple switches are stacked.
Usage Notes: Use compatible Extreme Networks licensed SFP+ modules for 10G uplink activation. Backup full configuration file before firmware upgrade. Check fan status regularly and replace failed fan immediately. Cut off power supply before removing or inserting optical transceivers. Clean optical port surface with dedicated fiber cleaning tools only. Configure network access control to prevent unauthorized access.
