Working Principle
The FBM232 connects to an Ethernet switch or hub via an RJ-45 interface. It uses loaded software drivers to identify field device protocols, collects and formats the data, and uploads it to the Foxboro DCS control station via a redundant 2 Mbps module fieldbus, while receiving control commands from the station.
Installation Requirements
- Must connect multiple field devices through a hub or switch.
- Requires connection to path A or B of the redundant 2 Mbps module fieldbus.
- Ensure proper ventilation and compliance with Class G3 protection requirements.
Usage Precautions
- Strictly prohibited to insert or remove the module while energized.
- Use the dedicated FDSI configurator tool when setting IP addresses and communication parameters.
- Ensure the field device protocol strictly matches the downloaded driver.
