Foxboro FCM2F2 RH914YZ

Product Introduction: FCM2F2 RH914YZ is a FOUNDATION Fieldbus communication module for Foxboro I/A Series DCS system. It acts as the interface between DCS control processor and FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 field devices. This module supports two independent fieldbus segments, provides fieldbus power, communicates with field transmitters and valve positioners, and transfers process data between fieldbus instruments and DCS controller. It is widely used in continuous process plants for fieldbus instrument integration.

Working Principle: The module receives power and DCS bus data from rack backplane. Two independent isolated power circuits supply power to two FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 segments. The fieldbus communication chip exchanges data with all field instruments on each segment. Process measurement values and device diagnostic data are transmitted to DCS controller. Control commands from DCS controller are converted to fieldbus frames and sent to field valve positioners. Short circuit protection cuts off segment power immediately when fieldbus cable short fault occurs.

Installation Requirements:

  • Insert module into compatible Foxboro I/A series DCS rack
  • Wear anti-static wristband during module handling
  • Use shielded FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 cable for field wiring
  • Install fieldbus terminators at both physical ends of each bus segment
  • Separate fieldbus signal cables from high voltage power cables
  • Complete rack protective earth connection
  • Keep cabinet ambient temperature below +60 °C

Usage Notes:

  • Configure fieldbus device list and segment parameters via Foxboro DCS configuration software before commissioning
  • Check fieldbus cable polarity during field instrument wiring
  • Calculate fieldbus load to ensure power budget meets instrument requirements
  • Backup fieldbus device configuration after commissioning
  • Disconnect rack power before removing module if hot swap function is not used
  • Inspect fieldbus terminator and cable insulation during plant outage inspection
