Working Principle
The FBM233 operates similarly to the FBM232 but manages two independent Ethernet links. It continuously monitors the health of both links. If the primary link fails, it instantly switches to the secondary link without interrupting data flow to the DCS controller. It translates field protocols into standard DCI data types (analog/digital I/O) for the control system.
Installation Requirements
Must be connected to two separate Ethernet switches or networks to achieve true redundancy. Requires a compatible Foxboro controller (e.g., FCP270, CP60) and appropriate termination modules.
Usage Precautions
- Verify that both redundant network paths are correctly configured and physically separated.
- Do not mix redundant and non-redundant modules in the same redundant group without proper system configuration.
