Application Scenarios:
- Precision temperature control in chemical reactors.
- Bearing and winding temperature monitoring in motors and generators.
- HVAC and environmental chamber control.
Performance Parameters:
- Accuracy: ±0.1% of full scale.
- Self-Heating: < 0.1°C at maximum excitation.
Material Composition & Structural Characteristics:
- Precision Resistors: 0.01% tolerance reference resistors for accurate excitation and measurement.
- PCB Layout: Guard rings and thermal isolation traces to prevent leakage currents and thermal gradients.
Working Principle: The module supplies a highly stable, low-magnitude constant current through the RTD. It measures the resulting voltage drop across the sensor. For 3-wire RTDs, it uses a second measurement lead to calculate and subtract the lead wire resistance. The precise resistance value is then converted to temperature using standard Callendar-Van Dusen equations.
Installation Requirements:
- Wire Matching: For 3-wire RTDs, ensure all three lead wires have identical length, gauge, and material to maintain cancellation accuracy.
- Separation: Keep wiring physically separated from power and motor cables.
Usage Precautions:
- Sensor Compatibility: Verify the RTD type and curve match the software configuration. Incorrect configuration will result in significant temperature errors.
- Moisture Protection: Seal unused RTD channels or terminate them with precision resistors to prevent noise pickup.
