GE IC200MDL240B

Product Introduction: The IC200MDL240B is a 16-channel digital input module for the VersaMax Micro PLC. It accepts 24V DC signals from field devices such as push buttons, limit switches, proximity sensors, and photoelectric sensors. Each input is optically isolated from the backplane bus for maximum noise immunity.

Material Composition:

  • PCB: FR-4 with conformal coating
  • Terminals: Screw-type, zinc-plated steel
  • Optocouplers: Per-channel, industrial-grade
  • Housing: Flame-retardant ABS

Working Principle: When a 24V DC signal is applied to an input terminal, current flows through the input LED of an optocoupler. The optocoupler’s phototransistor switches on the logic side, sending a “1” to the CPU. When the signal is removed, the optocoupler turns off, sending a “0”. The shared common return per group of 8 allows wiring flexibility — all 8 inputs in a group can share one negative wire. Installation Requirements:

  • Wire all field devices to the module’s terminal block
  • Connect the common return (COM) for each group of 8 to the negative side of the 24V DC supply
  • Use shielded cable for long runs; ground shield at PLC end
  • Do not mix AC and DC inputs on the same module

Usage Notes:

  • This is a SINK (NPN) module — your field devices must be NPN/PNP-sinking type
  • If you have PNP (sourcing) sensors, use IC200MDL240 (sourcing version) instead
  • The 1.6ms filter eliminates contact bounce but adds slight delay — disable for high-speed counting applications
  • Maximum cable length: 100m for 24V DC inputs with 3mA current
