Hirschmann MM20-M4M4T1T1SBH

Technical Specifications Modular plug-in media card; multiple 100BASE-FX fiber ports and 100BASE-TX RJ45 copper ports; backplane bus interface for MICE rack; redundant power supply through rack backplane; IP30 protection for module front panel; hot swap support.

Functional Features Media conversion between optical fiber and twisted pair Ethernet; support rapid ring redundancy for industrial network; port status diagnosis and fault alarm; port auto-negotiation and auto-crossover; SNMP network monitoring; broadcast storm suppression; port VLAN configuration; front panel LED port status indicators.

Application Scenarios Power plant DCS control network; oil and gas field industrial communication cabinet; railway rolling stock control network; factory automation redundant Ethernet ring; water treatment plant remote monitoring network.

Performance Parameters Operating ambient temperature -40℃ to +70℃; storage temperature -40℃ to +85℃; relative humidity 5% to 95%, no condensation; comply with industrial EMC standards, marine certification optional.

Material Composition Metal front panel; multi-layer industrial PCB; Ethernet isolation transformers; optical transceiver chips; gold-plated backplane edge connectors; LED status indicators; metal fixing latch.

Structural Characteristics Single slot plug-in card structure; front panel fitted with optical fiber ports, RJ45 copper ports and LED indicators; rear gold finger connector plugs into MICE rack backplane; internal circuit separates optical receiving/transmitting circuit and copper signal circuit.

Working Principle Module receives power and backplane bus signal from MICE rack backplane. Optical transceiver converts electrical Ethernet signal to optical signal for fiber transmission and converts incoming optical signal back to electrical signal. Switch chip forwards data frame according to MAC address table. Redundancy protocol detects link fault and switches network path automatically.

Installation Requirements Cut off rack power or execute hot swap procedure according to specification. Insert MM20 module into empty MICE rack slot and lock front latch. Connect fiber and copper Ethernet cables. Configure VLAN, ring redundancy and IP parameters via Hirschmann HiVision management software. Complete cabinet protective earthing.

Usage Notes Use matching industrial optical transceivers and fiber cable. Keep optical port protective cap installed when fiber not connected. Do not touch optical transceiver lens directly. Maintain ventilation space around rack for heat dissipation.
