Material Composition Rigid ABS sealed cartridge housing Floating magnetic disk platter coated with magnetic oxide layer Read-write head assembly inside host drive unit, cartridge contains only disk media Internal dust-proof sealing gasket Write protect plastic slider Metal alignment guide rail for drive bay positioning Label area for handwritten media identification
Structural Features Compact rectangular sealed cartridge form factor. Built-in precision guide rail ensures accurate alignment when inserting into Bernoulli drive bay. Write protect slider on side edge locks write access when toggled. Internal sealing gasket isolates disk platter from external cabinet dust and particle contamination. Floating disk design is the core feature of Bernoulli technology, which forms air gap between platter and head during rotation. No exposed magnetic surface on cartridge exterior.
Working Principle After inserting cartridge into Bernoulli drive bay, drive motor spins the internal disk platter at rated speed. Bernoulli aerodynamic principle generates stable air cushion between disk surface and read-write head. The read-write head floats on the air gap without physical contact with disk surface. Host drive unit sends SCSI compatible command to read or write magnetic sector data on platter. Data including configuration files and trend logs are stored on magnetic tracks. If read error is detected, drive unit executes automatic sector retry. Media fault status is reported to TDC3000 operator station.
Installation Requirements Hold cartridge by outer plastic housing only, do not touch internal sealing gasket. Insert cartridge into Bernoulli drive bay with label side upward. Push cartridge fully until the drive locking mechanism clicks and engages. Toggle write protect slider to locked position after finishing backup operation. Initiate media format operation from engineering workstation before first use. Verify file read and write function after formatting completes. Eject cartridge only after completing file operation and drive idle confirmation.
Usage Notes Keep cartridge away from strong magnetic field, high temperature and liquid splashing environment. Do not drop or bend cartridge housing. Do not open sealed cartridge housing, this will permanently damage media. Store cartridge in dry dust-proof media case when not in use. Replace cartridge when repeated read sector errors occur after multiple retries. Do not expose cartridge to direct sunlight for long time.
